Chinese Handcuffs was in my top three because when I read the summery, I thought it sounded interesting. My initial thoughts are that the book is dark. I'm only 50 pages in and it has already gone into several dark topics. Despite this, I have found the book slightly enjoyable. As for connections, I don't feel as if I've made it far enough to make connections.
ReplyDeleteI also think Chinese handcuffs is a dark book so far but it is still a good book because he is writing letters to his brother that died from suicide.
DeleteI agree that the book has went into some dark places. But it also has had some high points in the book. Like talking about the basketball game they played in.
DeleteSo far i belive the book has been dark such as the whole cat tourture thing, but it also has some lighter spots like when Dillon writes his brother who died from suicide letters.
DeleteI agree with the book being dark. The book talks about this boy writing letters to his dead brother that killed himself but it is still a good book if you keep reading on further.
DeleteI agree with you. I also have not been able to make many connections to the book yet. I am only on page 60, and I think once I get a little farther I will understand the context and reading style more.
DeleteI agree with everyone saying it can be dark because half the story is dillion writing to his dead brother about his days. But also the two girls home life and their stepdad and all he has done to Jen.
DeleteI chose this book as well. I thought since I am a person who doesn't really enjoy reading that this would keep my interest. It sure has at that. There are so may controversial topics in this and starting out with suicide and molestation in the first 2 chapters was definitely a shocker.
Deletethe reasons i got stotan is unknown, i did not get to chose it i wanted chinese haandcuffs, but somehow i got stotan when it was like my 4th choice. But asides the fact i am not the happiest with this book choice but it is what it is, its hard to follow and boring too. if i had a choice to read this book as of now i would quit reading it. have not been able to make any connections besides were both in school.
ReplyDeleteI got my third choose so far my book is running loose and so far it is decent but chinese handcuffs sounded like a better book.
DeleteI also got the book Stotan and so far its not very interesting. hopefully later on it gets better but for right now all I have learned about is the characters and what they do at their high school.
DeleteI connect with everything you said other than the book choice part. Not much of my book is very interesting and hard to keep reading
Deletewho are the main characters
Delete@Nater that is unlucky, I hope you end up really liking the book even though it wasn't your first choice. Good readings!!
Delete@WYATT walker, Nortie, lion, and jeff
Deletei agree for sure, I also have Stotan and it is continuously boring.
DeleteI choose Running Loose as the book to read. My top three choices where Running Loose, Chinese Handcuffs, and Stoten! I choose these books because they sounded interesting and the short summary we read made these three book the most interesting. So far the book Running Loose has been a pretty good book. There has been a lot of set up so far in the book and nothing major has happened. I can make a connection that football is a big thing in there school and also a big deal in our school. I can also connect to the to some of the football players as they worked hard at there sport all summer and I did the same thing for my sport
ReplyDeleteMy book, Chinese Handcuffs, also has been nearly all setup for the first 30-40 pages. I hope with all of the backstory Crutcher provides the climax of our books will be good!
DeleteI think the book is going to get better as it goes along but there is a lot of set up I agree
DeleteHi Eli! I actually think it is pretty boring on how far I am, maybe you are a little further than me and hit a good spot in the novel. #footloose #dogwithablog
DeleteStaying Fat for Sarah Byrnes was in my top three because the friendship going on between the two main characters is strong and loyal. Also a little bit mysterious. It keeps you pulled into the book, always leaving you with something to think about. The book is confusing at first, it likes to jump between settings every few pages without it flowing together. I have not found the book enjoyable yet, I need to read more to figure out what is going on to see if I actually enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the start is a bit muddled, but I personally enjoy that type of story telling. it gives you a large amount of information about the setting and characters without spoiling the plot and just adds to your understanding of characters and how they would solve problems.
DeleteI also agree with this. The only interesting moment to me so far was the bullying memory that Eric had because it had some action in it. I’m not really a fan of swimming so the swimming parts bore me a little.
DeleteI choose Chinese handcuffs and one of my top three choices because it was about sports and basketball. I also enjoy sports books and basketball. I am happy with my choice because I like how it shows all the trouble she has to go through to play basketball. I'm only about 40 pages in and it is very interesting from the start some books can take a while to get into and get interesting but this one started of very fast. I'm making a lot of connections to Jen because she plays basketball and she also got a concussion from basketball. When I was younger I also got a concussion from a fall in basketball.
ReplyDeleteI can also make a connection to Jen when I was in 8th grade my brother got a concussion from playing basketball and I can relate to her as I also used to play basketball
DeleteI also like the fact that this book is very easy to read. The first 40 pages felt like nothing with how fast the topics covered in it are.
DeleteI can also connect to Jen because in 8th grade during track season, I tumbled over a set of hurdles during a race and got a concussion.
DeleteI could relate to Jen on getting a concussion in basketball and staying at the hospital, because when I played hockey and the back of my head hit the ice and got a concussion and had to go to the hospital.

ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing reason to why you chose this book. I hope you love it. Keep up the great work!!
DeleteOMG!!! That's awesome!! I am reading Chinese Handcuffs aswell and I am hoping to connect to a character or event in the book later on.
DeleteGREAT SHARE!!! Sounds like a very interesting book.
DeleteI chose Running Loose as one of my top three choices because the summary seemed intriguing. Although I had two choices above Running Loose, I am enjoying the book so far. I am still learning all the characters in the book, but I am comfortable with the amount that I know so far. When I initially began reading, I was confused because the books starts off explaining past events, and leads up to the present. I figured this out as I read, but it can be confusing in the beginning. A connection I made was when the narrator, Louie, was talking about his parents. He calls them Norm and Brenda instead of mom and dad, so it took a little bit to figure out who they were. So far, this book is decent.
ReplyDeleteI was confused by the beginning but after about page 25 the story makes more sense .As I think about this book it is also decent.
Deletewith this book being your third choice do you think now after you have read so far you would have picked it on your own? This book was also my third choice and i think so far it is okay but i do not think i would have read it with out being assigned to it.
Deletethis book was actually my first choice due to the fact that its not only about football it is also about other highschool teenagers so i can relate myself to the book. Also, so far i am enjoying this book but i was confused on why Louie wasn't actually calling his parents mom and dad they were going by there real names which are Norm and Brenda.
Deletei chose this book because, it was in my best interest out of all my choices. so far i believe i made the right choice its going good so far. so far he's writing to his brother preston. but he has passed away. but dillon is desperate to talk to someone so he decided to pick his brother even though he has passed away.
ReplyDeleteThe that i got stotan was because i was not here and you assigned it to me
ReplyDeletewhat book did you want
Deleteare you mad about her assigning you that book? and if so what other one would u rather choose?
Deletesame here, was my last one on my list. I would have chose running loose if i had the option.
DeleteThe book Running Loose was in my top 3 because of sports. I have always been interested in sports books. So far, the book is pretty boring and very slow. I am making a connection with louis because I am not the biggest kid in the room at all times.
ReplyDeleteI also have been interested in sports books as well, do you think the book will pick up pace soon?
DeleteI am also reading Running Loose and I would have to agree with you that the book is boring and slow. I have a feeling it will get better through out the book.
DeleteI chose Chinese handcuffs because the little description on the back seemed interesting. I'm not a big reading fan, but the books so far has been alright. I like that the book started out hot and not like a huge build up and being boring for like 50 pages.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of 50 page build up Staying fat for sarah byrnes seems to start with a 50 page build up. Like at page 54 (the start of chapter 4) we are just getting into the cause of the first problem.
DeleteI would agree that 50 pages of build up is too much most of the time but sometimes it just makes the story better.
Chinese handcuffs was my last choice but i have heard great things about it, now i wish it was my first choice. Spotan is my book and my book was interesting for the first few pages and now its starting to slow down and getting a tad boring. Hopefully it will pick up more as i keep reading.
DeleteI choose Chinese handcuffs because because I can relate to loosing someone from suicide and it interested me to read about there story. Even though there are some dark parts about it I still think it is a good book so far. And I cant make any other connections at the moment besides him losing his brother to suicide.
ReplyDeleteI like that you made a connection to the character but what are some other things that happened in the book that you liked so fare?
DeleteIt great that you can can make a connection with a character in a book. I believe it making reading one easier.
DeleteI understand loosing someone to suicide as well. Even though I was not born yet my mother is reminded of it daily. She lost her first husband to this. Great share Mikya.
DeleteI chose Chinese Handcuffs because the overall summary of the book had seemed interesting to me and the overall theme of the story had hooked me on. So far, the book has been mainly structuring of overall character roles and who does what. But i can tell that it is going to be a good book just by the main character alone.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteIs there any similarities between you and your character and if so what? Also what about the book got you hooked into reading it?
DeleteDrew i hope you have a splendid day
DeleteThat is the same reason i chose my book. Do you see a big event coming in the book soon?
DeleteThe overall summary of the book is what hooked me too! I like books with suspense and hardships characters have to overcome. You mentioned that you can tell it is going to be a good book already by the main character alone. What about the main character stands out to you?
DeleteChinese Handcuffs sound like a interesting book. It seems well liked by the people reading it. Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!
DeleteThe book that I got is Stotan. I think stotan was towards the bottom of the list but that's what I ended up with. so far I'm not very intrigued by it but I'm only on page 30. We haven't learned to much yet but so far I know that there is a group of swimmers and this is there last season as a senior in high school. I haven't had any connections with this book yet but so far i think its a pretty boring read and hopefully it gets better soon
ReplyDeleteyeah jadyn i think this book is also boring and non intrigued so far. it reminds me of us because were in our last year of high school, thats my connection with the book
Deletethe book does get better soon I'm on page 36 and it just got real.
DeleteI agree with the beggining of the book not being very intersting but it does get better in the middle. I also agree with not having any connections to the book yet.
DeleteSpotan did for sure pick up after the middle.
DeleteI got the book Running loose, it was my third choose I had this book at number three because i really did not want to read about football, but the book so far is pretty good with a wide spectrum of characters and a lot of set up for what is going to happen later in the book. i have not found any connections yet but the book is good so far.
ReplyDeletedo you have a favorite person in the book that stands out to you?
Deletewhat type of person would you recommend this book to as of right now
DeleteIm Caleb Horstman I chose the book Chinese handcuffs because I thought it was the most interesting out of all because of the characters that make it interesting
ReplyDeleteWhat character do you think is the most interesting or you like the most?
Deletewhat do you think is interesting about the characters? i am reading running loose and i also find it interesting because of the wide variety of characters who all have back stories and come from different families but can all work together for their football team.
DeleteAre you into the book or is it boring. I might be looking for a winter book to cozy up by the fire place.
DeleteI chose the book called Running Loose which was one of my top three books. When I read a short summary about this book and I found it very interesting compared to the others we had to chose from. So fare throughout this book I found that the main character Louie is a hard working kid that is saving up for a truck that he wants. I can relate to him because I recently had to get a new car and I have a weekly payment so I've been working so I can pay it off just like what he is doing at his dads gas station. He also mentions his parents and how lucky he is to have the parents he has because some kids that he knows don't seem to have the best parents. So fare I'm enjoying this book.
ReplyDeleteIIs there anything else that is similar between you and Louie?
DeleteAlthough I'm reading Chinese Handcuffs, I believe I can also relate to having to pay off a new car.
DeleteBy reading your summary I think running loose would have been my second choice book because I also have to pay for my car and have to work 2 jobs to pay for it.
DeleteI found a connection to Louie as well through his hard work that he put in over the summer while also balancing a job. I also relate to to feeling lucky for my parents as they are extremely supportive of most of the things I do
DeleteIs there anything about the book that you think is well written? Is there lots of detail?
DeleteFrom reading your blog, I am very interested in Running Loose now. I feel that me and Louie would also have some things in common too.
DeleteI like the connection you made between yourself and Louie. Have you made any other connections so far during your reading?
DeleteI chose Spotan because after reading the summary from the papers, it interested me the most. While every book can seem boring in the beginning, i think going further along, it will get more interesting. So far in the book they have just discussed what they think Spotan week is, basically no one really knows besides the coach for sure. When the main characters asked the coach what Spotan week was, he said something along the lines of "you will have to wait and see" and "you will find out when you show up". Personally i think that because of the way the book is going so far, the meaning behind Spotan week will be pronounced either mid-book or towards the end.
ReplyDeleteThis is something I am also confused about with Stotan!, as there's a general lack of plot beyond the exposition of our characters. We should learn more as the story progresses, as none of the characters besides Max even knows what a "Stotan Week" will entail, although Jeff and Elaine think they could have an idea. It will be interesting to see just how grueling this week truly is for the characters.
Deletewhat do you think Stotan Week is? Have you come up with any theories about it so far? Or are you stumped on it like me?
DeleteI'm glad I got a book not like this. In Chinese Handcuffs, it started out with action and didn't just go on for like 50 pages about boring stuff.
DeleteThe reason I choose running loose was because the summary sounded interesting. the book has been decent so far the narrator Louie just talks about his friends and family and his high school football team also about the stuff that happens in his small Idaho town.
ReplyDeletei agree, the book did sound very interesting and i can not wait until i have finished it so i can see how the book ends
DeleteI chose stotan! because it was short and It sounded interesting just reading bits and pieces of the sample. I also wasn't interested in the others. I wouldn't say i'm happy with it but im not mad at it. My initial thoughts are it gets kind of confusing at times because they talk about one thing one minute then something else the next. I am not making any connections yet.
ReplyDeleteStotan was my first choice because on the summary of the book it talked about the main characters going through physical and mental challenges through out a thing called stotan week. Well, first things first, I like reading and trying to experience hardships with characters in novels. I like to me immersed. Next, I have never heard of a stotan before, let alone hearing of a sotan week so I was intrigued and wanted to know more. I enjoy thee book so far and all the characters are very likeable. Because this book was written so long ago I was worried there would be some outdates opinions or environment but, that is not a problem at all. I think that proves that books can be timeless, and I believe stotan might be worth the read.
ReplyDeleteThis is true, as the book has aged decently enough for the time, other than a reference to the Soviet Union (although that was much more prevalent in the 80s during the Cold War). As far as calling the characters "likeable" goes, I could disagree on a couple of them; Jeff has got to stop with his tooth trick, and Walker needs to learn how to be faithful. That being said, there is a lot of book left, and my opinions could easily be swayed.
Deletewhat do you think Stotan Week is do you have any ideas?
DeleteI ended up with Staying fat for Sarah Byrnes, which was my top choice. I couldn't really identify with any of the options that were listed but out of Running Lose, Staying fat for Sarah Byrnes, Chinese handcuffs and Stotan this one seemed the most interesting for me. So far I enjoy most of the creative English the author uses and the plot is getting there. The book is reasonably enjoyable but not something I would go out and read.
ReplyDeleteI have heard that many people didn't like this book. This one was my last choice.
DeleteIf this book would not be something you would go out and read, how did it end up interesting you out of all the options?
DeleteI will certainly agree that the author has as very creative writing style. On every page there are at the very least several jokes or pop-culture references from the time the book was written.
DeleteMe being a bigger guy, I chose to read the most obvoius choice. Staying Fat For Sarah Byrnes. I like the book so far but it is a bit confusing and I cant really follow the story line.
ReplyDeleteThat is funny. My book is a little confusing too, but I think I'm starting to understand it.
DeleteI agree it is confusing in the start, but now that I am to chapter 4 it is starting to pull together. Just wait a little longer and it will begin to make sense.
DeleteI agree with this at some points. Especially when Eric entered the office of Mr. Mautz. They were talking about the hospital before so I thought his office was in the hospital but it turned out to be the school principal and it didn’t make much sense to me in the sudden switch. Maybe I just read it wrong.
DeleteI agree that the book gets hard to follow along with at times. The author has a habit of going into flashbacks without any marker for doing so. Though I feel as you read farther into the book, you will likely be able to pick up on it happening more easily.
DeleteI wound up with "Stotan!," which was my top choice mostly because it had the most promising reviews on Goodreads. I am 34 pages in, and it has almost entirely been exposition to this point. Thanks to the narration, I have a solid understanding of each and every main character we have been introduced to, and there is not much confusion to clear up as of now. What I do find a little bizarre, however, is that I'm to Chapter 5 and still know little about the actual plot, other than that the group of protagonists plan on participating in "Stotan (mix between Stoic and Spartan) Week" together, and that Walker, our narrator, has an OBVIOUS crush on Elaine, the sole girl of the group. All in all, I do rock with this story so far, but I do look forward to things picking up soon.
ReplyDeleteI dont quit have a solid understanding as it is kind of confusing at times. I believe it will get better soon because im in the middle of the book.
DeleteI was Able to get my first chose, witch was Stotan! I chose this book because it was short and to me the other options were not interesting to me. I was able to get into my book when I picked it up. It started kind of with a Mystery what is stotan week. so far I have been able to get to know all the character's in the book and learn things about them. I would say my Favorite is probably Eliane. she is the only girl in the group and she is one of the best swimmers but doesn't compete. she is taking collage classes and is very smart but she is one of the guys.
ReplyDeleteIs there any characters in the book that you can relate or connect to?
DeleteI picked it based on the amount of pages as well but i agree its a good book just kind of confusing. however my favorite would be Nortie cause he seems quiet and i can relate to that.
DeleteI choose running loose because the back of the book really caught my attention. So far the book is very good because the football parts really have me feeling like not putting the book down. The hit with Washington was big but hopefully it does not suspend him.The story I thought was about running but it actially was connected to football which kind of shocked me.
ReplyDeletethis was one of my top choices but unfortunately I didn't get it. The book sounds pretty interesting based off of your summary and I am interested to hear more about it
DeleteI chose Running Loose because it seemed interesting and slightly similar to my life. It did seem intriguing because of the hit and everyone who has his back. So far, I am enjoying my book, but I'm not very far into it. I think this book could be really good, but I don't have much of say yet. So far, the book is pretty enjoyable and pretty interesting. I have made a few connections, but not a whole bunch yet.
ReplyDeleteI wish I would've chose that book because everyone's response on running loose make the book seem very interesting
DeleteStaying Fat For Sarah Byrnes was my third choice because I wasn’t really a fan of what I had read on the sheets we got before. But, now that I’m reading it, I think that it’s a very interesting novel. I haven’t gotten to far in it yet, but I don’t find myself falling asleep while trying to get to the next chapter like I do for most books that I read.
ReplyDeleteWhat changed your mind on this book from not liking it as much to now thinking it is interesting?
DeleteI feel as if the characters have made this book more interesting because if this book was based on other people, maybe he wouldn't be going out for sports or the iron man. I feel as if it would be a whole new setting taking place.
Deleteyou know its a good book when it keeps you up until early morning reading it.
DeleteChinese handcuffs was my first option because when I had read the summary and the first few pages of the book I got hooked almost immediately. My initial thoughts are the book is very dark. I am only 20 pages in and I have already read about how they tourtured and buried their neighbors cat. Even though there is several dark spots i have found the book enjoyable at the moment. I haven't made any connections to my real life as of now.
ReplyDeletei wish i would have got that book i thought the same of how it was interesting in the summary and now you say this, i really want that book.
DeleteRunning loose was my second choice because I didn't really understand what the story behind it was about. I am about 50 pages into the book know and it seems very interesting so far. I am enjoying this read, and am looking forward to finishing it and finding out what happens.
ReplyDeleteSo far, I agree that the book is interesting. Do you have any questions about what you think may happen next in the book?
Deletesounds right on point, the book did take a little longer to get into what is really happening and i can not wait until i understand the full story.
DeleteStotan was my 3rd choice but I didn't really mind that I got this book to read. as I started reading it, I grew to like it because it was easy to read and a short book which I loved. as I started to read, it really interested me because I wanted to know what Stotan week was. I met all the characters and so far there's no one I don't like but I don't have a favorite. I also read the summary before choosing and it says they experience change throughout Stotan week and I'm excited to see what that is.
ReplyDeleteChinese handcuffs was my first pick because it was a book most people didn't want to read that's why I picked it. I didn't really care what book I got but Chinese handcuffs was my first pick because I read the paper about it and it seemed the most appealing to me. I am about 40 pages in my book right now and I have already read about some gruesome stuff like how they tortured and burred their neighbors cat. I don't really have any direct connections with the book as of right now.
ReplyDeletei believe my first question would be why the hell are they torturing the cat in the first place????!!!!
DeleteI like that you choice a book that many different want to read. Why would you think the author wants you to visualize the book this way and what do you think is gonna happen next?
DeleteI wish I had gotten this book. It sounds different than any other book and a book that would be easy to get hooked onto so it would make it very easy to read.
Deletei chose the book "Staying fat for Sarah Byrnes" because the title caught my attention because being a bigger guy, i wondered why in the hell would someone want to stay fat. I figure it is because the charachter has been friends with Sarah for so long, he wants to make a statment by taking the same mental abuse she withstands so he can relate to her. i feel as if it is a terrible choice. you shouldnt have to relate to someone just to console them. i can console my friend whose parents are divorced even if mine are still togather.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI like how you made connections. Is there any specific character that you can connect to?
DeleteChinese Handcuffs was my top book because the summary I read about the book sounded suspenseful. I am happy with my choice so far because I like books about hardships and they have to overcome them. My initial thoughts about the book was that Dillon is still suffering from the loss of his brother Preston, and he copes by writing letters to him. I am finding the book enjoyable, but a little confusing because it flashes back and forth from present to past. The reading is interesting because there are flashbacks. So far I have made a minor connection to the book because it starts off mainly talking about Jens basketball game and I used to play basketball.
ReplyDeleteStaying Fat for Sarah Byrnes was my second choice because I didn't really understand what it was about at first but now that I have read a couple chapters in to the book I am glad that I ended up with the book Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes. I am already half way through the book and my favorite character so far is Moby. He is my favorite character because I can relate to some of his personality traits. Just like Moby I am always there for my friends through the good and bad times, just like he has stuck by his friend Sarah's side. I am also a calm, nice, and forgiving person just like Moby seems to be.
ReplyDeleteI would have to agree with this, the book sounded just strange at first but as you keep reading you realize some of these people are just like you.
DeleteI choose the book Running loose due to the fact that it is about a highschool football player it was already my first choice. Also this book connects with a teenagers everyday life and trying to cram things in to make his dream become reality. I'm on page 117 and so far this is the best book i have ever read! Finally if there were two other books i had to choose from besides this specific one it would be either Chinese handcuffs, or Stotan
ReplyDeleteI would agree that Running loose is defiantly one of the better books. yet it always seems to make you be on the edge of you seating wondering and thinking about what actually just happened.
DeleteI chose the book Chinese Handcuffs. I heard from all my friends that graduated last year that Chinese Handcuffs was the book to read. It can get dark at some points, like Dillion writing letters to his brother that took his own life by suicide. I also wanted to read this book because I have a connection with suicide. One of my friends took his own life a year ago and it connected to me because I heard how Preston died.
ReplyDeleteRunning loose was my first choice. I picked it being that I seem to connect to the bock. Through reading Running loose, I have made many different connections. Some different way's I have connected is through football while reading you learn all about the characters and there style and how they are as people and why that might be. Why could I possibly connect is I played football and I learned a lot about people and how they are on and off the field. I'm not really that far into the book yet but I have a good feeling about the book and really enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteWhat are some characters that you have met through out your book and how do you relate to them through football? I'm also am reading the same book and I have noticed that Louie the main character has worked hard to start on the football team. Can you connect to him in anyway?
DeleteThat is so great that you are enjoying the book so far, unlike me, i am not really too interested in the novel, but will soon. Happy readings!
DeleteStaying Fat for Sarah Byrnes was not my first choice but I am glad that's the book I got. The story so far is following the main characters journey through middle school and their start of high school. Which offer many opportunities to relate to the different characters. One example is when the main character Eric is in eighth grade he had a classmate who was larger than all the other kids. I feel like most people know at least one person from their time in middle school or early high school who was a bit larger than most other kids.
ReplyDeleteBoomer is the character i will be writing about. I Envision Boomer to be very bulky and mid height. He is very racist and acts like he is on the top of the world. He is always the first to brag and tell about all the girls he gets with. So far, Boomer is the biggest villain when he popped louie in the mouth and is always tormenting him. I would not be friends with him, i would just try to stay away from him and not associate with him.
ReplyDeleteIn the future do you think that Boomer and Louie will ever be good friends? Because I know throughout the book I have noticed that Boomer really doesn't like Louie at all and in football that really showed how much they don't get along.
DeleteChinese Handcuffs was in my top 3 and I read the first few chapters and the book is pretty dark more dark then I imagined by the cat situation. So far I am finding this book really enjoyable as you wont know what will happen next as it could take a different turn at any point witch I like. My connection with this book would be how I am physical and small like Jen just she is a female.
ReplyDeleteSo fare throughout the book I am reading which is Running Loose a lot of unexpected things have happened. One really big thing that has happened is that Louie the main character disagreed with what the coach was teaching the team so he quite the football team. something that I can relate to Louie is not agreeing with the coaches decisions. For example when I went out for volleyball freshman year and no matter how hard I worked during practice I wasn't able to play. So fare I have enjoyed the book.

Deleterunning loose was in my top three because it was one of the more interesting books out of the ones we picked. while reading there was a lot of events that really brought me to choose it. as i go on sometimes it does take the book a little too long to get from event to event but it still is an easy read. another reason I choose this book was because it is easy to connect the characters to people i know in real life.
ReplyDeleteAlong with you, i also wanted to read this book, but it was my second choice. I thought i would have connected more from football, but i am not really able to because i was never the one to be a starter.
DeleteI got the book Staying Fat for Sarah Brynes. This book was actually my last choice I believe, but honestly I am not mad that I ended up with this book because I feel it's something that I don't realize people actually go through. It's also a pretty easy book to follow along with.
ReplyDeleteWhile Spotan was extremely slow in the beginning and towards the middle but after the middle it picked up. The part that hooked me the most was when Nortie got beat up for dating a black girl and ended up taking drugs for the pain while everyone was worried about him. I dont know why but i think it hooked me because its one of the only interesting things that have happened
