The book I chose is night. The reason i took night was it sounded decent when we got the last book and I didn't get it. My initial thoughts on the book is that it is alright. It didn't waste any time and it is an easy read.
ReplyDeleteI had the same thing happen to me when I first started reading my book. I was glad that I kept reading as you probably were as well. My book is also an easy read for me, and I like that I can read it quickly.
DeleteThat book was very good, but at the beginning he jumps around from place to place so you should take time after you read to review what happened to make sure you understand it.
DeleteI have heard a lot of good things from the book night even though I have not got to read it. Glad you got an easy ready and hope you enjoy.
DeleteIt is pretty short but there are some parts that hit hard. there are a few flashforward parts where he jumps around a bit but it isn't too confusing.
DeleteI might have to read Night after I'm done with my book right now because all the people talking about it really seemed to have loved it and say it's a great book.
DeleteI read this book and I was glad that I had. It does get better as you get further into the book.. The ending was sad. Keep reading.
DeleteWhen i read this book i thouhgt that the start was really slow and did'nt enjoy it that much but it was also a very good book once you got past the start.
DeleteI chose the book Know My Name by Chanel Miller. I chose this book because another teacher recommended it to me. So far, I like the book. It hooked me immediately, but as I have kept reading, it dies down a little bit, but still peaks my interest.
ReplyDeletethe book I chose is Boarder Patrol. I chosed this book because i read the first couple of pages in the library and it seemed interesting. My thoughts on the book so far is that the book is actually pretty good. The book starts off with two of the main characters snowboarding down a hill at a ski resort.I am pretty hooked on the book because it has a lot of action and i like acttion packed books.
ReplyDeleteIs the border patrol for the Canadian border or the Mexican border?
Deletemy guess would be canadian becuase there is no places to ski by mexico, but there is up north by washington montana and that area.
Deletedoes the never ending action make you want to keep reading
DeleteThe book I choose is Start something that matters. its about the guy who started toms the shoe company and how he figured out how to advertise his shoes how he wanted to with passion and meaning. so far the book is good its more of a business book but otherwise its very interesting and I'm learning a lot from it.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of genre is your book? Is it horror or maybe mystery? I am reading a big called Small Spaces and it is more of a horror story.
DeleteReading a book about starting a business sort of sounds boring, but I'm glad that you are enjoying it.
DeleteI chose Stephen King's "Misery," and this is by far one of the best books I have read in a while. The start was relatively cool and slow, but now that I have advanced further into the book everything is happening very quickly. I chose this book because I love Stephen King novels and darker topics. The main premise of this book is imprisonment and kidnapping. I like when authors dive into darker topics, especially when it is done as well as it is done in this book. Initially I thought I was not going to like this book at all, but after reading a bit farther, I have grown to love it.
ReplyDeleteThat is kind of how my book started out slow but now that I'm further in my book it is getting more to the point.
DeleteWow I'm glad to hear you love imprisonment, kidnapping, and darker topics in books! This one sounds like a good one for you!
DeleteSteven King is an amazing author. If the book is anything like the movie It would be interesting to read.
DeleteMy book is the opposite as yours, speed wise. Mine started off pretty quickly, but then it slowed as I continued reading.
DeleteMy book is similar it has had a very slow start and has now started to pick up and sometimes skips a large amount of time or details. I also agree that I enjoy topic of book that talk about darker parts of life.
DeleteThe book I chose to read is called mindhunter.I choose this book because it is about the creation of my dream job It is about the behavioral analysis unit in the FBI. The book has a very weird start but is now starting to make sense and talk more about the FBI and how he helped found this unit.
ReplyDeleteIs the book hard to understand sometimes? My book is fairly easy. What happened in the beginning that was weird?
Deletethat is very interesting, that is what you want to be. Is it about someone who does your dream job or just the job in general. is the book easy to understand or is confusing?
DeleteThe book I chose was Fallout by S.A. Boden. I chose this book because I read the book prior to this one in the series and I liked it. So far, the book has been very good at recalling back to the last book. So far, this book has kept my attention and I have enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this series. What is it about? I like book that are in a series and they recap what happened in the first book that is always helpful.
DeleteI read this book awhile ago, and I enjoyed reading the series. It is a book that stays interesting, so it's easy to continue reading.
Deletei am reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, I chose this book because it sounded good when we picked our last book. So far i like the book but it is hard to get in to i am just waiting for it to pick up speed. it kinda relates to my last book a Thousand splendid suns.
ReplyDeleteI read The Kite Runner for my last book and I loved it. You just have to wait a bit for the book to become a consistent timeline. I found the first part boring and hard to follow as well but I liked the rest of the book.
DeleteI also read The Kite Runner for my last book and I did enjoy reading it. The beginning of the book was slow and boring and I did not enjoy it then. Just wait for things to begin happening and you will definitely get into it. Some parts of it gets hard to follow because at times there is a lot going on at once.
DeleteThe Book Thief also correlates slightly to A Thousand Splendid Suns, as it shows just how easy we have it compared to children (usually girls) growing up in nations during wartime. The connection between your book as ATSS is apparent, as it appears to be a gender swapped version that also takes place in Afghanistan at a similar time.
DeleteI also read the Kite Runner for my last book and I agree it is very hard to get into at first, but just wait there is a lot of unexpected that happens which will keep you reading!
DeleteI enjoyed the book A Thousand Splendid Suns and I think the author did a great job on that book so I think that the book your reading will be great as well.
DeleteI have read a book from the same author. It was a great book.
Deletethe book that i chose is Wild Life. i chose this book because the book cover looked very interesting. so far it is about a boy who loves the outdoors and his parents are getting deployed so he has to stay with his grandparents. he plans on doing some hunting trips in south Dakota where his grandparents live.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the cover looked interesting. When i read that book it was very interesting to me and kept my attention.
DeleteI'm reading the same book its been a good so far
DeleteI have heard this is a good book but never read it.
DeleteI have read this book as well and knowing you being a big hunter you will love it.
Deleteafter reading your blog it reminds me that i read this book years back i really like the story and the kid really likes his dog, wont spoil the rest
Deletethe book I chose is wildlife. I chose this book because I've read it before and I liked it so I wanted to read it again. so far the book has been as good as I remember.
ReplyDeleteDo you think since you read it already it will be a better book because you will understand it better? I've never read my book before, but my dad says its good.
Deletei also chose this book and so far i am really liking it. since im an outdoors person i, i can relate to it a lot.
Deletesense you read it before do you think it will be easier to understand and will you be able to pick out key details better?
DeleteThe book i chose was night because when i read about it. it seemed liked a good read. One specific reason i choose this book is because i like to learn about the holocausts because I think it was a crazy event that happened in our history. The book starts by kind of introducing the character and what he is doing before everything starts to happen
ReplyDeleteWas this your number 1 choice when trying to pick a book last time?
DeleteI read night as my last book. If you are into what happened to people in work camps I can probably say that this is a good pick.
DeleteEveryone that has read this says they loved it, I hope you do too!
DeleteI also choose the book because I am interested in the Holocaust, I really like how the book jumps right into action.
DeleteI chose Alaska's Wolf Man; I chose this book because my dad recommended it to me. It's about this guy that moved to Alaska to hunt wolves because they have over run all the other animals and the gov. wants them gone. So far, I really like the book it moves at a good pace and is easy to understand his story.
ReplyDeletethis book sounds very interesting and kind of goes right along with what's happening out west with there wolf problem and government paying people for dead wolves
DeleteThis book sounds good and I like to hunt but maybe not wolves.
DeleteThe book i chose to read is I Hunt Killers. I chose this book because i was going to read this book a long time ago, but never got the chance because I never got to choose a book to read in a class. All the book we ever chose was forced or a choice between a couple of different ones. This book is about this kid named jazz and his dad is a serial killer, but is in jail now. His dad taught jazz all he knew about everything and there is a body found in a field in the town where jazz lives. Jazz scopes it out from a distance while the police are investigating it. I am hooked on this book because it is a new environment of books I have read.
ReplyDeleteI am reading the book The tribes of Palos verdes and so far I love this book by the way it grabs my attention its more of my type interest reads. I would say this would be my favorite book of the try and it about a family who lives in Palos verdes, they used to live in Michigan but they moved back down there because of the fathers job, so far ever things going well along with friends wise except for the family. The father and mother get into a fight and Jim the brother slaps his dad so hard he hits the ground because he is cheating on mom. So they are getting a deforce and dad is going to find a hotel somewhere down there to get back on his feel.
ReplyDeleteI think I would like this book as well because of what you said is all going on. I like how it has a lot going on and that their are problems in the characters lives. I like books like this that tells the true life story of the characters because then you can relate it to real life.
DeleteThis kind of reminds me of my book Lone survivor, it truly goes into deep talks about his life before the navy seals and what he had to deal with growing up.
Deletehow did the divorce effect the family ?
DeleteThis book sounds very good and sounds like a good topic for you if you enjoy it
DeleteI am reading the book The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise. I chose this book because I read the summary on the back and it immediately grabbed my attention. I liked the adventure that it seemed like it had for the characters. This book is not like the past two I read, right from the start it had events going on that left me wanting to read more. I am very interested to keep reading to see how the adventures all unfold.
ReplyDeleteI did not quite have the same luck when it came to a fast start, as The Book Thief has been very slow and trudging to begin with. It's been almost too much exposition and too little of anything else.
DeleteI chose a book called Small Spaces by Katherine Arden. I chose this book because the cover of the book looked kind of spooky and I like reading books that are scary or horror stories. I came across this book when I was looking for a book in the library and it looked like a book I might like so I chose it. The of my book starts by a girl named Ollie that loves to read and one day she goes down too her spot by the river where she enjoys to read but when she gets down there she notices a lady that looks sad like she has been crying. Ollie finds out that the lady is crying because she has to throw a book in the river because it is part of a bargain and if she don't do it bad things will happen so Ollie takes the book from the lady and starts reading it as Ollie reads the books she starts to notice weird things happen in her life that happened in the book she took from the lady.
ReplyDeleteMy new book is called Girl, Stolen by April Henry. I chose this book because the librarian told me it was a mystery/crime book and I was interested. The processes I went through to find my book was talking to the librarian about the genre I wanted and she pointed it out to me. There was not a specific reason I chose this book, I have never heard of it before. The topics of the book was what I was looking for. My initial thoughts of the book is it moves very fast. The first chapter is already Cheyenne getting kidnapped it dove right in. I am not quite hooked, but I like the book so far.
ReplyDeleteIn my book my main character runs away, so it is interesting to see books where the main character disappears. However, my character chose this and I can't imagine how scared Cheyenne must be.
DeleteWow that sounds crazy!!!! She got kidnapped in the first chapter wow?!?!? I hope you enjoy reading your book!
DeleteThis book sounds very interesting and I like how the book was nothing boring at the beginning because that is how you get a reader hooked!
DeleteI'm reading The Book Thief by Markus Zuzak, which was recommended to me by a friend. I did not anticipate it being over five hundred pages, but life goes on. It's essentially a tale told (by the Grim Reaper) about a girl named Liesel who grew up in a foster home in near-WW2 Germany. The start has been slogging, but I have no doubt things will be picking up here eventually.
ReplyDeletethis sounds like a very good book. it sounds very interesting from a interesting perspective. i hope my book picks up speed too.
DeleteI've read that book, and I can say that it does pick up. I would consider the book an enjoyable read.
DeleteI have heard that book is really good. It sounds really interesting
DeleteI read a bit of this book freshman year but I never got to finish it sadly. Let me know how it goes because I might try reading it again.
DeleteI chose the book Found by Joseph Bruchac. the main reason I picked this book is because it is pretty short and the plot seems more interesting than an autobiography. I found it by basically skimming the library shelfs. The book starts with the main character nick getting on a train to a camp where he would teach people how to hike, however, he never makes it to the camp. On the train he walks into the wrong room and accidentally witnesses a murder.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a very interesting start to a book. i wonder how things will play out for the character who saw the murder.
DeleteMy new book is called The Forgotten Heroes by Clinton Cox.I chose this book because I like war books and it was only 160 in pages. It was a newer book to our library and the cover look intresting. There was no specfic reason I chose it but since it was shorter was the main reason. The book starts off very quickly with the buffalo soldiers attacking the cheyennes.
ReplyDeletewhat are buffalo soldiers and why where they called that?
DeleteFor a book being only 160 pages about war and things of that nature, i can only imagine how fast everything must be going.
DeleteMy new book is called Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell. I chose this book, because I love war books and I have watched the movie before and I loved it. Why not enjoy one of my favorite movies in the book and see the difference between the to. So far I have enjoyed every second and am really hooked so far and I'm not even that far into the book. If you don't know anything about the book it is, Marcus Luttrell life story and his experience in the navy seals and what it truly takes.
ReplyDeleteI aslo really liked the movie i should read the book and see if its similar.
Deletewhich is more realistic the book or movie?
DeleteMy new book is called Night by Elie Wiesel. I choose to read this book because many students over the years said this was a very good book to read and as of now its got my attention right off the bat. It started out with them hearing about Nazis getting people out of their homes and into Ghettos, Elie and his Family thought that the Nazis would never get to them cause of how far out this was happening at. Fast forward 3 days and there getting pushed out their house and moved into the Ghettos.
ReplyDeleteI choose night as well I also like how it jumps into action with them going to the ghettos.
DeleteThe book i chose was "Ghost of a spirit bear" the reason i choose it was because i read the back and it was talking about a kid that was being sent away to an island for punishment instead of jail time. this caught my attention right away so i picked it. at the beginning of my book it started out describing the characters and explaining how "Cole" the main character had gotten into trouble and now has to make the decision of going to Alaska and surviving for a whole month or spending the rest of his life behind bars. Cole choose to take the trip but only gets to bring a few things with him which are matches, a knife, and some snacks. on the island he will have to survive with a little help from his counselor Garvey. Garvey stops at the island where Cole is at to give him helpful tips and food everyone once in awhile but other than that everything is up to Cole himself to stay alive.
ReplyDeleteSo if Cole makes it survives one month he get out of his jail time?
DeleteMy book is "The Old Man and the Sea". It follows an old un-named man in his journey of trying to catch a fish after not getting anything for 85 days. In terms of entertainment, it really did hook me. more so than the fish the old man is battling against. I'm only about halfway through the book now but I'm really into it.
ReplyDeleteThe book that I have chosen to read is The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. This is one of my all time favorite books and lots of us had to read it in 7th grade. I chose this book because I have always wanted to reread the book after watching the movie so many times. It follows a young boy that lives in a society that is split between social classes. I love this book and I am excited to experience this story all over again.
ReplyDeleteI’m really curious to know if the book is like the movie. I hope so because I really liked watching the movie in 7th grade so I might also read this after.
DeleteIt is a great book and a great movie. I remember reading it in 7th grade but I didn't pay much attention and thought it was boring, but a few years later I saw the movie and thought it was good, so I reread the book and really liked it
DeleteGreat movie for sure. I forget the book though. ive never really read it without skipping bits and pieces
DeleteI chose the book Anne Frank's Tales of the House Behind. The reason that I chose this book was because after reading the book Night By Elie Whitney I was intrigued by the whole Holocaust and how the Jews were treated. I loved the true story factor and the fact that this was journal of a girl who died at the age of 16 made me want to find out why. This book is kind of hard to find the meaning since it is her actual journal of the last 2 years of her life while in hiding. She tells the story in letter form using fictional characters to describe her surrounding and daily events. I cant wait to see why her life ended so soon.
ReplyDeleteI chose the book Code Girls. The reason I chose this book is because I heard about it in another class and I was very interested by it because it's something we never learned about World War II. This story is about three woman who were a big part of World War II by breaking codes. It starts out giving all of the women's back stories and how they got into working for the government. I am currently hooked on the book although some parts can be very boring and long there is always a good part after that keeps you reading!
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds very interesting. I like the fact that its coming from the women's part of view I can't wait to hear more.
DeleteI have chosen the book Night, by Elie Wiesel and the reason for it is that I heard from two of the previous readers that it is simple but confusing at the same time with page difference from other books but setting and overall theme of the book is unsettling and hard to read for it is about the holocaust. I get really intrigued by books involving the holocaust or WW2, and this book is also packed with climax compared points in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI was looking at this book to but i didnt get it because it seemed like a slow pace read and i dont like that but how are you liking it so far
Deleteafter reading this book already it was a great book and I hope that you enjoy it.
DeleteThe book I chose is Ace of Spades by Faridah Abeike-Iyimide. I picked out this book because I thought the title of the book was interesting. The book picks off right away in the start, and I would say that I am hooked. The book is about Devon and Chiamaka, the only people of color in a prestigious high school. They are targeted by this person called "Aces".
ReplyDeleteThis is me, I forgot to sign in.
DeleteI chose the book Divergent. A few reasons I chose the book is because I've asked a few friends about the book and they said it was a good and interesting read it always keeps you on your toes. also I asked the librarian if she would recommend this book to any readers that don't like reading and she highly recommended it. The book starts by explaining how the factions work in their society. the book hooked me when the main character Beatrice and her brother Caleb left their faction and their parents to go to a different faction.
ReplyDeleteI love the movie. Let me know if you like it. My favorite person is four.
Deletemy new book is called crossbow, i chose it because it seemed very interesting because it is in the outdoors. my initial thoughts about the book are very interesting and i like that the guy built a fort/cabin like i did when i was younger. it starts by him telling me about his cabin and i liked that.
ReplyDeleteas a kid I remember building a lot of forts out in the woods and building fires by them. I remember that fort that you built in your backyard. was that the same one that you killed the possum in?
DeleteACTUALLY, it was very sick, like most possums and i put it out of its missery
DeleteI can tell by reading your blog that this is a good book, I also like the outdoors since I grew up in the country my whole life. I like how you connected your own life to the book .
DeleteMy book is wonder. I chose this book because i have heard many good things about it and my friends recommended it. In the past all the books my friends suggested ended up being really good. So far it is a really good book. It started off telling auggies story which is very interesting. I am excited to continue reading and see how it developes. Basically so far all i know is that auggie was born different and he is trying to live his everyday life the best he can.
ReplyDeleteI remember reading this in 6th grade and it was really good. I especially love all the Star Wars references.
Deletei loved the movie and the book really good story
DeleteThe book I ended up choosing was Night. The reason I did was because it was my first choice last time and I was not able to get it. I was always interested in anything that involved the Holocaust and I though it would be interesting to learn some from the point of view of a survivor. I am pretty hooked because it starts out with action and with Elie and his family in the ghettos, I am excited to see where the book goes from here.
ReplyDeleteThe book I chose is called Girl In Pieces. The reason why I chose this book is because I like reading about topics that include some sort of psychology or mental health issue. I ended up finding this book on TikTok and I thought it sounded interesting so I went to BAM and bought it. A more specific reason of why I chose it was because I enjoyed reading a mini summary about it. I find myself having to take small breaks when reading this book because some of the things spoken about really hit nerves and I can’t continue reading.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is called Night by Elie Wiesel. I chose this book because many people told me it was really good and because it is not very long so I can finish it with ease. The book takes place during the Holocaust and it starts of in Transylvania. Elie and his family were put into ghettos and then eventually taken to Auschwitz along with other Jews. The book isn't too surprising or intriguing yet, but I'm still only at the beginning of the book. I have been told that it is really good so my expectations are high.
ReplyDeleteDo you think Elie puts a purpose at the end of the book or do you think he just explains what all happened to him during the holocaust? Do you think this book will be as graphic as what everyone else says?
DeleteThe book that I chose was Night by Elie Wiesel. I chose this book because it sounded good to me. the process I went through to find my book was going to the library and asking the teachers what a good book is. I specifically chose this book because I like reading about true history events. My initial thoughts about this book is that it is really good so far, even though there's not that many pages it is still good. My book starts by telling me about the Jews and the Nazi's and how they would throw babies into the air and use them as targets for shooting. I am hooked on it yes.
ReplyDeleteit shows how unforgiving the nazis were back in that time.
Deletethe book I chose was the beet fields by Gary Paulson the main reason I chose this book was honestly because the cover page was appealing to me. The first half of this book basically explains how horrible of a life this 16 year old can have. I didn't really get hooked to this book because its so short but its definitely a interesting book.
ReplyDeleteit makes me happy that we have all of these good things in our lives
Deletemy book that i chose was american sniper, i chose this book because i watched the movie when it came out and i wanted to refresh myself on the events that took place in this mans extraordinary life.
ReplyDeletehave not read the book but the movie is very interesting
DeleteI chose the book any means necessary. It is kind of like an action book. i chose it only cause the cover of the book. i didnt really have a process. Just making sure it looked interesting. There was no specific reason. My thoughts is its a decent book. so far everything is good kind of boring in some parts. It started with by a guy calling luke the main character saying he has a job that needs to be done. Im not fully hooked yet.
ReplyDeletethe book i choose was the trials of apollo the burning maze. I choose this book because i have already read the first two books in the series and since I was allowed to choose my own book i picked a book that I have been wanting to read. i have been hooked on these types of books for a while due to how they never disappoint and are always action packed and do not have dull moments throughout the books. after reading the first parts it started right off exactly where the previous book left off, and so far, it is a really good book and is easy to read.
ReplyDeleteThe book I am Reading is Where the crawdads Sing. I choose this book because I heard it is really good, I was hooked on the book when I started reading it. only when she was Six her mom left after that her siblings followed, they all left because she has an abuse dad. As she grows up her dad leaves, now she is by herself. there is always something new in this book. This book is a two story the other half is about a man that was murder and they are trying to find the killer. I am guessing they will meet in the end.
ReplyDelete
